Frequently asked questions

JAPFEST 2024

Due to phenomenal demand, we have now had to stop ticket sales for this Sunday’s Japfest at Silverstone. We’ve been truly blown away by the popularity of the show, and we would like to express our gratitude for the support from all our visitors, clubs and commercial partners. There will be no on-the-day tickets available for purchase.

If you’re able to travel as a passenger in an existing car that has already booked a Club or Special Display pass, then you can still buy tickets here.

Stay tuned to our social channels for any updates between now and Sunday. Remember when coming to the show to follow signage not your sat nav. Please be respectful of the neighbouring communities as you arrive and leave the venue on the day by keeping within the speed limits and minimising noise wherever possible.

We’re looking forward to a fabulous show with more club cars than ever before plus track action and drifting throughout the day. If you are coming, have a wonderful time, and we hope to see you at some of our other events in 2024, including TRAX Silverstone on 1st September and Classic Japfest at Goodwood on 6th October.

Due to phenomenal demand, we have now had to stop ticket sales for the show. If you’re making your own way to the event, the only ticket option now is a combined camping ticket, which includes overnight camping at Whittlebury Park Campsite. Prices are £42 per adult and £15 per child. You must arrive at the campsite between 10:00 – 22:00 on the Saturday. No entry will be permitted on Sunday morning. Please ensure you have the vehicle information before you start your booking.

Why can’t I park on site?

We’ve been blown away by the popularity of the show this year and have filled the on-site Silverstone car parks. We therefore can sell no further tickets to those who are arriving in a vehicle that needs public parking.

Why have you introduced a Parking Pass this year?
Since ticket sales went on sale, we have been selling Parking Passes which were free with early bird tickets. It means that we can more accurately monitor the capacity and ensure we can get your parked and into the show as smoothly as possible.

Can we BBQ?
Yes, BBQ’s must be raised off the ground and disposed of by dousing in water before placing in any bin/skip. No open fires are permitted.

Can I park next to my tent?
Yes, vehicles are parked with your tents, so we ask you to restrict movement as much as possible so not to cause a disturbance to other campers nearby. Campers are directed through to the next available area upon arrival.

Will our stuff be safe?

CLUBS

How many cars does a club need to bring?
The minimum amount of cars allowed on a club stand is 5, there is no maximum. If your club does not have enough cars booked by the club deadline, all cars will automatically be moved to the Special Display area.

I don’t have a Japanese but I want to display my car on a club stand?
Only Japanese models are allowed to display. The organisers retain the rights to refuse entry or ask you to leave.

We want to put up a gazebo and banners around our stand, is that okay?
You will need to fill in the Risk Assessment Form and make sure that it is securely erected. Banners advertising your club are fine as long as they are suitable and in your designated club area. We retain the right to charge you for the additional space, depending on the size.

Can we display bikes on our club stand?
Unfortunately we do not allow motorcycles to display at our event. The event is for cars exclusively.

How do we as a club get a good location at the event?
Clubs are plotted based on a first come, first served basis. The sooner your club books their tickets, the more likely you are to get a ‘good’ location within the event.
Please do note, we reserve the right to plot clubs as we see fit based on the ground conditions.

What will I receive when I book track time?
Upon booking track time, you will receive an email confirmation. Leading up to the event, you will be sent details about your briefing and track time along with other important documentation that you will need to bring with you. If you do not have this 3 days before the event, please contact us.

Can the club deadline change?
Kelsey Media have the right to close the club deadline prior to the date stated above. The club deadline is in place subject to space and availability.

I didn’t select a vehicle pass upon booking, can I still display my car?
If you did not select a ‘driver and vehicle’ entry ticket and enter your vehicle details onto your order then you will not be eligible to display your vehicle at the event. Once the deadline has passed, no vehicle display passes will be issued and you will have to park in the public car park.

Can we raise money for a charity at the event?
If you are a registered charity or part of a registered charity (you will be asked to supply accreditation) then you can collect from your stand only. Collecting around the site is not permitted.

Can we sell things from our stand?
You are allowed to sell branded club merchandise only e.g. t-shirts, stickers etc. You must not sell anything else that is not related directly to your club.

What time can I leave?
The show closes at 17:00 and you may be asked to return to your stand before that time if it is deemed unsafe for vehicle movement due to the volume of pedestrians.
